‘social’ bookmarking

Right now, every story on Digg’s frontpage supposedly infringes and is subject to takedown.

In fact, there’s a good chance that by linking to the flickr page, this page violates the DMCA. Yet, all the kids can talk about is how Digg is ‘censoring’ them. What good is the ‘social’ web when society consists of a drooling mob that doesn’t understand who they’re fighting?

Someone should try to tell them – how about you?

Update:
Since I wrote that, Kevin Rose has decided to fight. While it’s an interesting statement (on May Day, no less) – I still wonder if education about the fucked up status of copyright law wouldn’t accomplish more than this.
